The Slater Fire Long Term Recovery Group (SF LTRG) was formed in December 2020 to support recovery efforts in the community of Happy Camp. The collaborative is comprised of members of the local community including the Karuk Tribe, local non-profits: Happy Camp Community Center, Hope for Happy Camp, Mid-Klamath Watershed Council, Siskiyou Works, ORE-CAL RC&D, regional non-profits: Hope Crisis Response Network, Northern Valley Catholic Social Services and Nor-Cal VOAD, local governmental representatives, regional foundation leaders: Ford Family Foundation, Community Foundation of the North State, national non-profits: United Way/211, Nation's Finest, FEMA and CAL OES voluntary agency liaisons and other stakeholders. The mission of the SF LTRG is to unite community partners in a collective effort to help survivors reach their own personal level of “recovery” and to heal our forest through collaborative action.
