Happy Camp Relief Fund

On September 8th 2020, the Slater Fire destroyed 212 homes in Happy Camp. In the aftermath of the fire, Community Foundation of the North State partnered with our non-profit to support Slater Fire Victims.

A local Committee was organized to make decisions on how best to distribute these funds to the victims of the Slater Fire. The committee consists of a wide range of local, Happy Camp residents who have either lost their home and/or personal belongings, or were displaced as a result of the evacuation order. These local individuals include representatives from the following fields: education, public safety, law enforcement, the Karuk tribe, and the business community.
